// 01 Core Principles
CORE PRINCIPLES
01. Raw Data Aesthetics Raw Data Aesthetics
We refuse to treat color as mere "decoration." In this lab, color is restored to its most essential form: **Data**. Whether it's RGB signals or Lab spatial coordinates, every value is an objective physical fact. We strip away the rounded corners, shadows, and gradients common in modern web design, using brutalist grids and lines to display this data like specimens, confronting users with the raw tension of information.
02. Digital Ecology Digital Ecology
Every page load consumes energy. We advocate for **Eco-Brutalism**, which is not just a visual style but an ethical choice.
We use Dark Mode as the default to reduce OLED power consumption; we minimize code size and remove redundant scripts and images to reduce the carbon footprint of digital transmission. We attempt to build a low-noise, low-consumption, sustainable color sanctuary amidst the information explosion.
03. Decentralized Index Decentralized Index
Color has no borders. From the glazed tiles of the Forbidden City (Chinese Traditional Colors) to German Industrial Standards (RAL), to the global printing system (Pantone). We index and map these color standards scattered across different cultures, industries, and carriers through a unified algorithmic interface, attempting to break physical barriers and establish a universal digital color coordinate system.

Data Source
This site (Colory.cc) is a non-profit color data indexing tool. All color names, values (HEX/RGB/CMYK), and related descriptions are collected from **public internet sources, open-source repositories, and third-party public datasets**.
We make no express or implied warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the raw data. Some historical colors (such as Chinese Traditional Colors) may have multiple versions due to differences in literature records; we only include one version as a reference.
Trademarks & Copyrights
Pantone®, RAL, NCS (Natural Color System), and other proprietary color names mentioned on this site are registered trademarks or copyrighted property of their respective owners.
We use these names solely for **descriptive and indexing purposes** to facilitate designer retrieval and **do not imply any official cooperation, authorization, or endorsement** by these brands.
Technical Deviation
- Screen Display Differences: Due to differences in display panel technology (IPS/OLED), gamut coverage (sRGB/DCI-P3), and calibration, the colors you see on screen may differ significantly from physical objects. **Screen display should not be relied upon as the sole basis for physical color matching.**
- Algorithm Conversion Errors: Most CMYK, Lab, and HSL values provided on this site are approximations **calculated** from RGB via mathematical formulas (based on Standard Observer 2° & D65 Illuminant), not physical measurements from a spectrophotometer.
- Print Irreversibility: RGB (Light) and CMYK (Pigment) have different gamuts; some highly saturated RGB colors **cannot be realized** in physical printing. The CMYK values provided are for reference only; please consult official physical color charts or printing vendors for actual production.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall this site (Colory.cc) or its developers be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages (including but not limited to loss of profits, business interruption, production accidents, printing waste, etc.) arising from the use or inability to use this site's data.
Anyone using this data for industrial production, architectural painting, textile dyeing, or commercial printing is obligated to verify against physical color charts.
